Chintō
Chintō
Background
Chintō is named for a Chinese martial artist said to have been shipwrecked on Okinawa. The kata is known for one-legged stances and the balance of a crane, alternating with low, rooted attacks. In Shōrin-ryū it remains a classical Shuri form, posted here between the two Kūsankū and Gojūshiho.
